OK, I have a very specific reason for needing help with this and it's more than just idle curiosity, but I can't say much more right now.
Please visit this website www.stanromanek.com, click on the Timeline with Videos & Pictures link, scroll down to the 2 videos taken in Stan's home and tell me what you think.
The 2nd one is pretty easy, but what do you think of the 1st one with the strange light anomaly? What else could cause this?

OMG! I don't know Callea. In the first video, the little light seems to be checking out something there in the middle, what is that, a stereo system or something, can't tell. But that is certainly weird. And the chair moving around, pretty freaky. I cannot offer any explanations. I'm gonna watch them again, this time though I'm gonna try & keep my mouth from falling open.

The flight pattern of the object seems very direct and 'knows' where it is going. Not sure what it could be.
Are you going to investigate this place Saturday or something?

honestly, the first video looks like a very finely directed light. you can see as it moves over the unit in the center of the screen, it actually conforms to the shape of the object. This is the same effect you'd get by moving a flashlight along the face of an object. It's strange that the light seems so well-defined, but that is not impossible and could be done by use of a nice flashlight or wide-diameter laser.

Ok the first one with the red light, it looks like to me as if someone has a lazier light and it is just being moving across the front of the camera. Most moving Orbs are much faster the that, just from all the ones I have seen. Now the chair one is just to dark for me to say for sure. I would set up the camera again and leave the lights on. I mean if its a ghost they don't care it there is a light or not.

OK, more details, please. If it is a laser light or a flashlight, where is the person standing who is holding it? Behind the camera? Where do you buy a wide-diameter laser light? Would a laser light or a flashlight leave a little trail behind it? If someone can re-create this, I'd love to see it and find out exactly how it was done.

well you can get a lazier light that is a little larger, also if you watch the slow down part you do see a trail. Im just saying that in the twenty years Ive been doing this I have never seen an orb move so slow. Most of the time when I do see it, it is dust. I can try to recreate it. Sure.

That would be great, Tom. Now my other comment is that we may not be dealing with your typical "orb" here considering the guy thinks he is being visited by extraterresrial beings.

I pulled the video into Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 8.0 (one of my favorite movie making pieces of software). When I pulled the video apart frame by frame you can see the changes in direction as the light bounces of surface to surface. This would lead me to think that it is not an object but rather the reflection of a light source. The biggest example is at at the small reflective object it bounces off of just past the TV.
As for the second video....ummmm, yeah.

what you have to remember is that with a large deal of paranormal phenomena, a person is going to attribute it to whatever they believe in.
So, where as some people would see a chair moving and assume a ghost, others would attribute it to ET phenomena they believe they are experiencing.
Regarding your question of whether a laser or other lightsource would leave a trail, it is certainly possible, especially when working with nightshot cameras. I can't begin to tell you how many times i've gotten myself all worked up over an anomaly on video onlt to find out that someone in the room was using an IR laser thermometer.
I don't mean to come off as a jerk or anything, but things like this need to be taken with a hefty pinch of salt until you have further reason to believe you know the cause behind the phenomena.

Oh no! You didn't come off as a jerk. This is the info I want to hear! I am taking all of this very skeptically right now. I'm just not very good at debunking, so I wanted to know what other explanations there might be for this.
