There are some questions that come up often, so I thought I'd answer them here.
Where do I go if I have questions about the chapters or the paperwork?
I can answer most questions for you. If I don't know the answer, I will find out and get back to you.
Do I have to change my group's name to become a Nightwatchers chapter?
No. You can operate your same group, using the same name. You will just need to add a Nightwatchers Chapter graphic to any wesites and MySpace pages that you have.
Do I have to leave my current group to run a chapter?
No. I do need to know if you are planning to leave your group to start a new team, but you are not required to leave your current group.
Does my group have to investigate in the same way as the other Nightwatchers Chapters?
No. Each group makes its own decisions about how things will be done. There are a few rules, a very few, mainly to protect Todd, The Nightwatchers, and our reputation in the paranormal community. These rules are pretty much common sense stuff.
Do we have to use all of the paperwork that gets sent with the packet?
No. Some of the paperwork is required and some is just provided as a courtesy for use if you want. There is a checklist in the welcome packet that lists the documents that are required by Nightwatchers.
Do all investigators have to have background checks?
If the investigator plans to be a member of your team, then yes. If the investigator is simply joining you as a guest on an investigation at a public location, then no. If you do a home investigation, you must use only the members of your group, no guests. If you feel the need to make an exception to this rule, please talk to me and we'll see what we can do.
Is there a minimum number of investigations required?
No. Do as many or as few as you like. It's totally up to you and your team.
The bottom line is that these are YOUR groups. We don't want to run them for you. If you need help or support, especially the newer groups starting out, that's what I'm here for.
