According to a story once printed in the F.S.U. newspaper, a freak storm took the life of a female coed while she was sunbathing in 1949. Since that time students who stay in her old room complain of poltergeist activity, unexplainable sounds, and the feeling that they were not alone.

The lastest report has the building closed and abandoned, windows broken and relics of an earlier day still strewn around the insides. The third floor, last heard, is still locked. What could be in there? Late at night you can hear whispers, shuffling sounds, and items being dropped.

Theaters are often reported as haunts for restless spirits. Melbourne is no different where its own Henegar Center for the Arts is reportedly visited by a spirit named Jonathan. Built initially as Melbourne High School in the early 1920's, the building fell into decay in the latter part of the 20th century and almost demolished. Despite adversity a group of civic and artistic-minded individuals calling themselves the Brevard Regional Arts Group worked to renovate the building into the showcase theater it is now. Part of the group that worked renovate the building was the community theater group, The Indian River Players, who brought with them an interesting guest.

Located on 22 acres of pristine waterfront along Tampa Bay, the historic Safety Harbor Resort and Spa is one of the largest and best-known spa and fitness centers in the country. It's also haunted. Several housekeepers tell of hearing their name called from the woman's bath area of the spa when nobody is there. During a renovation in the mid-90's, the front desk would receive phone calls from empty guestrooms in the dead of night. When security would investigate, they could hear voices in the totally empty building.
