The McPike House is said to be haunted and a number of photos taken at the house have added to the mystery. Some show strange balls of light that have gone unexplained by professional photographers. Others show human-shaped outlines, some shadowy and some glowing, that were not seen by human eyes until the photos were developed. Please check the above website for a virtual tour and photos.

The theater is supposedly haunted and many have claimed they have seen apparitions and felt cold spots inside the theater, even on hot summer days. Also, there have been reports of the spirit of John Dillinger seen running down the alleyway.

From strange voices to slamming doors, there's more to be had at The Country House than just a good burger! Windows are also known to open by themselves. When Dave and Pat Regnery bought the place back in the early 70's, they were so perplexed by the activity that they called in a psychic who confirmed that it was the spirit of a young woman killed outside of the resturaunt in the 1950's.
Skeptical, the owners sought out the former owner who confirmed the story. Apparently a young woman with a child appeared one night and asked a bartender if she could leave the baby there as she had things to do. The bartender refused and she stormed off in a huff, promptly crashing her car. While the child was okay, she did not survive and is believed to haunt the property to this day.

Unoccupied for almost fifty years after the owner committed suicide while mourning the death of his wife, Laura Schweppe. The ghost of the family's servant haunts the mansion's hallways and corridors while the owners haunt the bedrooms. Also, one of the windows of the master bedroom never needs to be cleaned, while all the others collect dust over the years.

Sci-Fi Channel's Sightings actually aired this location as being "the most haunted hot spot in America". The Dome Room is a gothic after hours dance club that is an annex of the Excalibur club in downtown Chicago. It once served as a library that burned to the ground in the Great Chicago Fire. Many lives were claimed in that historical fire. It also served as a morgue for hundreds of dead bodies that were the result of large ship accident. A man with red hair in a tuxedo is often seen in the central bar area of the club. There is also the spirit of a little girl that is often seen upstairs. Candles light by themselves, objects move, and apparitions are seen.

The Chodl is haunted by the spirit of a teacher/director who passed away from a heart attack on the opening night of his West Side Story production. It is claimed he still haunts the grounds today, watching as performances take place.
