It's reputed that the spirit of Annie Oliver walks these grounds. As well, somewhere on grounds there is a statue of a The Black Angel which is supposed to cast a curse upon anyone who touches it.

It is said, that sometime in the late 1800s, a woman fell down the staircase from the third floor of College Hall. Of course, she broke her neck and died instantly. Now it is rumored on campus that, on every Friday the 13th, if you step on the college seal exactly at midnight and look at the third floor window, you can see her reflection.
-Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Palo.
Located just outside Cedar Rapids about 1.5 miles from the town of Palo in Linn County.
Thirteen stairs lead to the entrance to this 1800s graveyard in the middle of the woods. Ghost dogs, a disappearing house, and balls of light have been recorded. Also, many investigators have picked up EVP. (Electronic voice phenomena).

It is said to be haunted by a spirit named Helen, and even thought you cannot gain entrance, you can still see her turning lights on and off from within.

Located on Flammang Drive in the Crossroads Shopping Center.
They call the young spirit here Jeremiah. Seen by an employee he has been described as about 12 years of age, pale and thin, and dressed in Amish looking ware. He loves to play small pranks on people. He moves merchandise around, tugs on employee's smocks, taps on shoulders and causes general mischief.

A girl named Helen passed away during the influenza in the epidemic of 1918 and her parents donated a clock which was once in her dorm. Students now say that late at night, Helen leaves the clock to play the piano in the parlor and tug covers off of sleeping students.

The museum is called Granger House after the family who lived in the home for nearly a century. Their story is important not because they were special, but because their everyday experiences were widely shared by others living at that time. The museum is fortunate, indeed, to have so many of their original furnishings and to possess such an ample supply of family papers.
It is said, that if you stand on the street at midnight and watch the windows you can occasionally see a young woman dressed in white sitting in front of one.

Many students have witnessed the occurances which have been described as if ghosts are flying about the ceiling. Although there is no wind, air conditioning of magnitude, or crosswinds from windows, the hanging lamps consistantly swing back and forth.

Many of the employees think the theater is haunted by Mr. Goldie, a previous owner. One even recounts being in an empty theater and seeing one of the chairs in the upper front rows rocking back and forth.

Known as one of the most haunted places in Dubuque, experiences include cold breezes, strange voices, and chills. Caretakers report objects mysteriously moving out of place and flickering lights as well as eerie cries coming from the servant's house, the master bedroom, and the nursery.
