I've been researching the effects of weather and the pararnormal for quite a while now. I think I've developed a formula for forecasting a higher or lower likelihood of paranormal activity in a regional area now. This includes heat, thunderstorms, along with solar  activity. Within the next few weeks, I'll try to get this site up and working. I'll let everyone know when it is up.

I believe barometric pressure plays a part in activity- from my own personal observations anyway. Very cool!

Yes it does, but the problem with that is you can't really predict that as it happens on the fly. Pressure seems to drop when something is trying to manifest....similar to cold or warm spots

The website is done except for predictions. I'm hoping that on Friday I can give a preliminary prediction for the weekend (fingers crossed). You can check the site out now at Http://www.paranormalweather.com . Feel free to post at the forums at any time.

Thanks,
Mike

Stunner I find this very fascinating.
Can I ask you though, how long have you been tracking this difference in pressure and how accurate do you findings seem to be?
How many investigations have you based this theory on?
Pretty cool idea.

I've been looking at all aspects of this for a few months now...I'm thinking since April or so. That includes reading A LOT on line about other peoples findings and I tested a few of the theories at Eastern State with Nightwatchers. My problem with barometric pressure and trying to predict higher levels of paranormal activity is: That normal barometric pressure is between 29.50" and 30.50". A strong high pressure system can give you a higher pressure (mainly happens during winter months) while a hurricane, severe thunderstorm or tornado will give you a lower pressure.  Even a strong cold front can drop it below 29.50" mainly in the fall and winter months. While weather forecasting can guess the pressure drops, I feel that they are not significant in predicting when paranormal activity will occur due to the fact that they are short-fused, meaning that they only last for a short period of time. What I might end up doing in the future is adding something similar to a severe thunderstorm watch. When a  significant pressure drop is forecast, I could issue a short-fused watch were I feel that paranormal activity would be enhanced. Hope that helps Juile and I hope to see you at Eastern State in the spring.

Mike

Total site redesign with more information will launch tomorrow morning (Monday) with updated maps for the next 4 days. A discussion for each region is coming soon. I'm trying to do monday-thursday outlook and a weekend (fri-sun) outlook each week

Thanks,
Mike

P.S. Link to email now works on the contact page.....don't even ask why it didn't work

My new database is now online at http://www.paranormalweather.com  There will be more groups added but this makes it a lot easier to find groups. Took me about 3 weeks to semi-complete this. Hope you like it.

As of today, I have made the maps bigger and I have changed some of the maps underneath the outlook that should be helpful for some.

I have also added an archive page and a weather page that some might find useful.

Thanks,

And now and I think the last major update to the website(altho I've said that before) is that now there are regional weather pages for those that are interested. I've tried to find the most useful weather information that is available.

I'm starting a donation drive. Just to get some equipment for more experiments that will help with the site.  There's a button on the home page if you are interested.

Thanks,
Mike

Hmmm... I wonder if changes in barometric pressure can effect the function of our brains and in turn cause us to be more sensitive to paranormal activities OR in a similar way that certain frequencies can, cause us to hallucinate and missinterpret abnormal brain activity as paranormal events.

I'm thinking about doing a semi-weekly Paranormal Weather audio version and possibly a monthly radio show with guests related to the paranormal.

I'm looking for feedback about this....just trying to get a feel of the interest level.
Please let know what you think.

Thanks,
Mike

I think it would be neat if you did a 'top of the hour' paranormal weather forecast and send the mp3 to various shows.  Just an idea.

I say give it a shot and see where it goes. The worst that will happen is a little bit of your time.

Very nice and lots of info available on the fly if you need to know what's going on regionally.  I also believe there is a correlation between the weather & paranormal activity.  I've often wondered whether the spirit trying to manifest is causing the changes, or if the environmental factors like pressure & ionization are a catalyst for it.
Awesome job!!!

I figured  that I should post this here also:

Due to my wedding and honeymoon, there will be no outlook for Aug 24-27.

I apologize for any inconvenience.
