I've been researching the effects of weather and the pararnormal for quite a while now. I think I've developed a formula for forecasting a higher or lower likelihood of paranormal activity in a regional area now. This includes heat, thunderstorms, along with solar activity. Within the next few weeks, I'll try to get this site up and working. I'll let everyone know when it is up.

I believe barometric pressure plays a part in activity- from my own personal observations anyway. Very cool! _________________ "Whatsoever that be within us that feels, thinks, desires and animates is something celestial and divine and consequently imperishable" ~Aristotle

Yes it does, but the problem with that is you can't really predict that as it happens on the fly. Pressure seems to drop when something is trying to manifest....similar to cold or warm spots _________________ http://www.Paranormalweather.com

Stunner I find this very fascinating.
Can I ask you though, how long have you been tracking this difference in pressure and how accurate do you findings seem to be?
How many investigations have you based this theory on?
Pretty cool idea. _________________ ~The Forum Nazi~ |

I've been looking at all aspects of this for a few months now...I'm thinking since April or so. That includes reading A LOT on line about other peoples findings and I tested a few of the theories at Eastern State with Nightwatchers. My problem with barometric pressure and trying to predict higher levels of paranormal activity is: That normal barometric pressure is between 29.50" and 30.50". A strong high pressure system can give you a higher pressure (mainly happens during winter months) while a hurricane, severe thunderstorm or tornado will give you a lower pressure. Even a strong cold front can drop it below 29.50" mainly in the fall and winter months. While weather forecasting can guess the pressure drops, I feel that they are not significant in predicting when paranormal activity will occur due to the fact that they are short-fused, meaning that they only last for a short period of time. What I might end up doing in the future is adding something similar to a severe thunderstorm watch. When a significant pressure drop is forecast, I could issue a short-fused watch were I feel that paranormal activity would be enhanced. Hope that helps Juile and I hope to see you at Eastern State in the spring.

Total site redesign with more information will launch tomorrow morning (Monday) with updated maps for the next 4 days. A discussion for each region is coming soon. I'm trying to do monday-thursday outlook and a weekend (fri-sun) outlook each week
Thanks,
Mike
P.S. Link to email now works on the contact page.....don't even ask why it didn't work _________________ http://www.Paranormalweather.com

Hmmm... I wonder if changes in barometric pressure can effect the function of our brains and in turn cause us to be more sensitive to paranormal activities OR in a similar way that certain frequencies can, cause us to hallucinate and missinterpret abnormal brain activity as paranormal events. _________________ A skeptical sensitive, who'da thunk it?

I think it would be neat if you did a 'top of the hour' paranormal weather forecast and send the mp3 to various shows. Just an idea. _________________ ~The Forum Nazi~ |

Very nice and lots of info available on the fly if you need to know what's going on regionally. I also believe there is a correlation between the weather & paranormal activity. I've often wondered whether the spirit trying to manifest is causing the changes, or if the environmental factors like pressure & ionization are a catalyst for it.
